Hi all, I am seeking to move to Canada and continue my career as a carpenter and general contractor. I read to get Express entry through the federal skilled trades program I need "a valid job offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least 1 year or a certificate of qualification in your skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial, territorial or federal authority" So I applied on https://skilledtradesbc.ca for certification. To be eligible for their trade qualifier, I need to prove 9540 hours according to this website: Carpenter – Ellis Chart, which I have worked. The skilled trades BC website asks for supporting documentation to prove work hours but I couldn't find examples of approved documents, so I attached my tax returns, and I'm hoping that will suffice. Could anyone please let me know? I tried calling Skilled Trades BC but the automated system hangs up on you when you say you're applying for Trade qualifier and no one replied to my email to them.

I read that the other option is to apply to be an uncertified experienced worker but that I would need to attend a 3-4 year apprenticeship program, and I am well past the apprenticeship level. I have my construction supervisor's license, general liability insurance, I am registered as a home improvement contractor in Massachusetts. I have been working as a lead carpenter for many years, and I have extensive experience with all aspects of construction. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
