Applying for PR without Husband and Kid

Hi All,
I am applying for PR alone as husband and kid (3 years old) non accompanying. Planning to get a job first and then sponsor them. After getting PR for myself, can they apply visitor visa so that they can come with me for a month at least. If I don't get a job in 2 months, we all can return to India. If I do, can I sponsor their PR while they are in Canada?

Why do you want to create additional problems for youself? They will have to do medicals with you anyways when you are applying for PR. Visitor visa is not guaranteed. You can't sponsor them during 1-2 months it is a much longer process.

What are you gaining by declaring them as not accompanying?

Chances of a visitor visa for them would be slim. IRCC would expect they would overstay and be sponsored and likely refuse the applications. As noted, if you are married and have children, you have to include them on your application (accompanying or non accompanying) or risk never being able to sponsor them as family and a misrepresentation finding for yourself which could result in you loosing your PR status.

In Express entry if you declare them as non accompanying you get additional points.

I know a few contacts who took that route then sponsor them after under family class.

You will only have a short window to land - i.e. copr will expire 1 year from date of medicals. Visitor visa for spouses of pr or citizens are harder to get approved by NDVO.

Assuming you are applying under EE, your best option is for you to land first look for a job and then get them here once you get a job.cost of living is high in major Canadian cities so you might dwindle your savings pretty fast.

We both have to quit our jobs in India and start again. It would be a huge risk especially having a kid. So idea is for me to go first and search for a good job and then they can join me. If I am unable to get a job within 2 months, i'll return and my husband will still have a job in hand. Both ways one of will have a job.

I will show them as dependent in my application but as non accompanying.

Your husband does not need to quit his job just to land. You can get PR visas, go to Canada to land, then spend some time in Canada and return if you want. Me and my husband did not quit our jobs when we landed. It was just like a 1 month vacation in Canada.
