Applying for PR whilst expecting a baby

Hi,

I have a bit of a sticky situation. We received the ITA and have everything ready submit our PR application in a week's time or so. However, I am pregnant and expect to deliver in January 2018. Obviously, there is no mention of this in my profile as CIC doesn't ask about unborn children :).

I am wondering, what do I do if I receive the COPR later this year? Obviously, I would neither't be able to travel when heavily pregnant nor with a baby who wasn't part of the PR application.

Please advise.

No need to worry. You can submit your application as per your plan and wait for the approval. You can add a dependent in your application until you land. So if you get COPR before the baby is born, you can still add the baby in your PR application without any issues. You'll need to inform CIC after birth of the baby and provide additional documents. Its a pretty straightforward process.

Good luck!

Thanks so much, that's a relief! You think I should mention this in the letter of explanation or its irrelevant?
