Applying for PGWP while a PR application is in process

Hi,

I have a unique situation and need some help. I'm about to apply for a Post-Graduate Work Permit, and I already have a PR application (spouse category) in process.

While selecting the options for the online PGWP questionnaire, I'm confused about the right choice for one of the questions:

1. What would you like to do in Canada? Work
2. How long are you planning to stay in Canada? Temporarily - more than 6 months

3. Do you have a family member who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and is 18 years or older? Yes
4. Have you been told by a Citizenship and Immigration Canada office that you are approved in principle for permanent residence in Canada? No
5. Have you submitted a permanent resident application in Canada? Yes

I feel the answering 'Temporarily - more than 6 months' for question 2. goes against the motive of my PR application. Should I instead choose 'Permanently' (When I tried to do that, my application switched to a 'Express Entry Application' which I don't qualify for yet).

My question is, Is it o.k to apply for a PGWP stating 'Temporarily - more than 6 months' while having a permanent residence application in process?

Thanks.

I am wondering if you were able to find an answer to your second question? I have just submitted a sponsorship application. My wife will finish her studies soon and her study permit expires on Sept 30. We were hoping she could obtain a PGWP to fill the gap before the sponsorship application is approved.

I'm assuming you guys have found your answers.
I'm basically on the same boat as you guys - could you please help me out?
