Applying for other visa during very long wait for skilled worker visa

Hello girls and guys

I applied for a skilled worker visa in 2005 and am still waiting. Does anyone know if it will affect my application if I apply for a working holiday visa and go over there in the meantime? I am so bored of waiting it is starting to hurt.
