Hi all. Whether and how you can apply for an open work permit when the employer does not meet the terms of the contract (lmia contract = no breaks, changing the contract to a seasonal one, no sufficient break between finishing and starting work the next day). The work is also stressful, it leads to depression due to the contact with customers who shout and treat me with disrespect. Should I look for another employer with lmia or is there any way to obtain an open work permit in this situation? What happens if I just quit my job? Thank you for all the advance.

You’re describing what a lot of people go thru everyday . Getting yelled by customers isn’t a valid reason to get an open work permit . I worked for decades as an airline agent . It was the nature of the beast . I got yelled at daily , and dealt with people occasionally who went off the rails mentally. You quit ? You won’t get EI. Quit ? But you’d need to get another LMIA job . Potentially be without income for months.
Read your contract . Many jobs have the stipulations that hours of work can be changed by management. It’s all about what YOU agreed to when you signed your work agreement.
Not being satisfied with a job doesn’t automatically give you an option for an open work permit

Thank you for Link. And what can happen after sending such an application? Will my current employer be notified? How long may it take to process an application? Has anyone been in a similar situation and have any experience?
