Hello All,

Currently, I am on an open work permit, working full-time in Canada and my wife is still in my home country(India). Our CRS score is 520 with me being a primary applicant, so can I directly submit our express entry file together and call her to Canada directly on PR

or should I apply for SOWP first, bring my wife to Canada and then apply for our EE PR file? Please advise.

Thank you!

You can do either and both options. You can submit the express entry profile with your wife being outland (accompanying). No issues there, during ITA you will declare that she is outside of Canada and her side of the process you be treated as such. Post ITA you can apply for the SOWP and pay the fees. The work permits takes some time to process and may very well be approved only a couple months before express entry. So the decision is yours. To apply for SOWP you have to have a certain job teer without ITA to apply.
