I am a Canadian citizen, as my father was born in Canada. I want to apply for a citizenship certificate as I was born in the UK and still live there, but I don't have my father's birth certificate. Is there a way round this if I can't get hold of it? (He is no longer alive)
Thanks

If he is deceased, then you should have no issues obtaining his birth certificate. Have you tried yet through the province where he was born?

I haven't no. Am I able to do this, what proof would I need and how would I go about requesting it? Thank you

Depends on the province. Google "birth certificate" + the name of the province.

I have now managed to get a photocopy of my dad's birth certificate from my sister in Canada. Will a photocopy be accepted ?
