Dear all,

I am planning to apply for child home care program together with my family, spouse and 2 kids, 7 and 14 yrs. old, once it open on January 2021, sponsored by my brother. what kind of visas are we going to apply for my dependents? (ex: student visa, visit visa) and my spouse will have an Open work permit, and do we need to submit a proof of funds / show money?

thank you in advance.

Student visas. You should show you have enough money to settle in Canada even though POF is not required. Assume your brother has set up his business registration accounts and meets requirements.

In the application package for Home Child Care Pilot Program, it says... Children will be on Student Visa (without funds requirement) cause they will get free education until Grade 12 (depending on the province you are landing). Until Grade 10, its free education for kids if the parents are on any work permit.

Your brother should have a family income of 85 K CAD + in order to give you a job offer. And should have same income for at least 3 years.

85k is not enough in many areas of the country. In general it must make sense financially and in general for your brother to hire a nanny especially since you are a family member. Given that many abused the previous program and used it as an immigration program for family members IRCC has become much more strict on proof that there is an actual need for a nanny versus hiring a nanny at all costs because it will allow a family member to come to Canada.

I agree to this fact. IRCC will have the last word, for sure.

I am the employer here and my annual is way more than 85K so I think my relative's application will be processed.

But there has to be a specific figure, though its not specified on the IRCC website anywhere, however we have to rely on standard calculations while submitting applications. And I did mention in my previous post, that this figure changes according to the city/province.

If you're a caregiver who has been caring for children in Canada, you may be eligible for the Home Child Care Provider Pilot. Biometrics.
