Hello guys,

I have 3 nice questions:

1) Well I have a master in IT but it is through correspondence. I am applying for a post-secondary college because especially of the co-op program. As a foreigner, I have 2 yrs work experience in India. Do I have any chance of rejection of my visa? If yes, What could be the reason?

2) second point, since I am foreigner residing in India and applying here (High Commission Delhi). Is there any chance that my visa get rejected with a "No home ties" reason?

3) third point, is it necessary to write a cover letter or else to submit along with my application?

thanks

Hello dear. You are doing same like me. I have bachelors and applied for Post-secondary diploma, got admission, applied for visa, received Medical form. Still I am succeeded, God knows better for future. Hope that I get visa. But It's in no sense to apply for a Post-secondary diploma program, already having a bachelors or masters. Because visa officer can reject the application by keeping the fact in mind that "You are having Masters and you already have two years of experience, then why are you rushing for a diploma? Stating that it is a co-op program is not sufficient to satisfy visa officer, because your two years experience has more value than an internship. So, I would recommend you to search for a Post Graduate Diploma, instead of the former one.

First of all, from which country are you from..? Secondly, What go for post-secondary..? Either try getting PG Certificate or another Masters Program. Co-op is available with these two options too. You might get study - mismatch OR purpose of visit rejection!

It's better to apply from home country. That would be easier to satisfy the VO for getting Visa instead of applying from another country.

SOP is a huge plus to your application. Even though CIC website do not mention it, but local visa collecting offices encourage us to attach it with application.

Why go for a course lower than what you haves studied for? This is mismatch and a fertile ground for visa rejection(The VO will conclude that your intentions are to immigrate rather than to study ok)

Home ties-Well if you dont show proper home ties you qualify for that.

Cover letter-This depends with who writes it,your employer,Councillor.Member of parliament etc

Take your time and do the right thing,Canada is not running away.

Thank you all for your reply.
I am from Senegal (A French speaking country). I'm working in India presently. that is the reason i want to apply from here. I know I can apply from Senegal but don't know whether I would have enough time. (the minimum duration process for visa is about 9 weeks and I have applied for Sep 11 intake). I forgot to mention that my visa is going to expire after 3 months.

About the post-secondary program, I gotta admit that I think there is a real chance to get my visa rejected since I have a master degree. Therefore I am looking for convincing reasons I could put in my SOP, like:

1-the PG was a correspondence program
2-the program I chose is kind of a specialization including a co-op (not a general one)
3-I would like to start a fresh new career.

Are these 3 reasons enough?
Does anyone have a good reason that can justify my choice for a Post Secondary program?
Habil, I am going to write the SOP.

Now, about the home ties.. I have know idea what to say in the SOP. Can you help me with this too?
Thanks.
