Hello!
I'm a Canadian citizen and I've been living with my now fiance for 13 months now in PEI. He came to Canada on a Working Holiday Visa but we've submitted his PR sponsorship application about a month ago.
We've been wanting to buy a house, and I've been back and forth on whether or not he should apply for a mortgage with me with his status. We've both got full-time jobs and we both have good credit scores (him in the 730s and me in the 770s). I make substantially more money but I also have quite a bit of student debt. He, on the other hand, has no debt. I should also mention he did file his taxes as a Canadian resident for 2017.
Has anyone had experience with this? Any information would be incredibly appreciated!
Thanks!
