Hi,

I'm a first time user of this site so please bare with me.

My name is Stephen from the United Kingdom and I have a question in regards to applying for a 2nd year under the International Experience Canada (IEC).

I received my Letter of Introduction a few months ago and I am due to leave for Toronto on Tuesday 18th September. I am very tempted to do a 2nd year when the visas open in December 2012.

My question is I know what I need to do in terms of filling in all the papers but when it comes to producing a police certificate can I use the spare copy for my 2nd IEC Visa? When I sent in my police certificate for my 1st year visa I purchased an extra copy and I was wondering could this be OK to use for the 2nd year? It's dated Jan 14th 2012 so does that mean I have to wait until Jan 14th 2013 to use it? Or do I need to apply for a brand new one?

I will be forever grateful if someone can explain this to me as its very confusing.

Thank you for reading my message. :)

1. Yes it is acceptable as long as it is no older than 1 year when you apply for the 2nd IEC

I obtained a police certificate that I submitted for a previous application to the IEC initiative. Will it still be valid if I apply again? Do I need a new police certificate?

The police certificate you obtained and submitted as part of your previous IEC application is valid for 12 calendar months from the time of issue. If you are unsure as to whether your current police certificate will remain valid for the period of time required to process your application, we recommend that you apply for and submit a new certificate. It is important to note that your application will be automatically refused against the eligibility criteria of the IEC if your previous certificate is no longer valid and you have not submitted a new one.

Please note that if you are currently in the process of applying for a new police certificate and you have the intention of re-applying in a subsequent year, we strongly recommend that you request to be issued a second copy of the certificate so that you can include it with your next application.

Steve,

I would like to apply for the IEC Program in Decemeber 2012 as well.

Could I possibly send you an email and if you could give me any hits as to what they expect in the applications and how you were approved the first time?

I am desperate looking for help and there is not a lot on the internet.

Also, how did you find a place to live once in Canada?

Thanks for your help.
