Applying Co-op Work Permit Requires Extending Study Permit Also?

Hi,

My study permit is about to expire by 31st August 2019. I have received a co-op letter from my university for the co-op term from Sept 2019 to Dec 2019.

Do I need to apply for extension of my study permit before I can apply for co-op work permit?
Or
If I can apply for co-op work permit first and then apply for study permit extension?
Or
I need to only apply for co-op work permit and there is no need to extend study permit?

You cant study in any capacity (coop is study) without a study permit so you definitely need to extend that, once you apply for extension you are on implied status so you can study while waiting for result.

I believe you need a study permit that is valid during your co-op because in the coop form the duration end date is your study permit end date, but check this with your school advisors.
