I just received the certificate of Canadian citizenship and am going to apply the Canadian Passport.

Actually I currently live and work outside of Canada temporarily and I came back to Canada for the ceremony. I want to apply the Canadian passport while I'm staying in Canada but I'm wondering it is allowed to do so or I should apply at the Embassy where I live and work. I have home address in Canada and my family can receive my passport.

If I can apply in Canada, can I write my Canadian address in "Current Home Address" and write my other country's address in "Additional personal Information"?

Thank you so much for your help in advance.

It doesn't matter weather your here or there, you are now a Canadian no restricted rules for that - If your in doubt contact the passport office.

If you apply in Canada under urgent processing may get it in 24-48hrs. Applying at Embassy they may give you a Travel Document (one way to Canada, limited validity), or a temporary Passport (again with limited validity). They can collect your documents and send them to Canada to issue the passport (but this will take some time). Not sure if all Embassies around the world are having the HW to print/produce the electronic passport.
I have an EU passport and if I want to apply for passport at Embassy here in Canada, I can get a 1year valid Temporary Passport or one way Travel Document valid 90days, or they can collect my application, send it back to home country and get back the passport (this usually takes 4+ months)

Maybe someone who applied for a passport abroad can give more details - but should be someone applied after 2013 when was introduced the electronic passport.

As for home address, sure you have to write the Canadian address as home address - the address you have on the DL for instance.

Is your "current home address" actually in Canada? You live and work abroad.

Something to think about - sometimes Passport Canada will call your guarantor + references, to ask questions in order to ascertain they really know you. If they do and the address question comes up, you don't want them guessing between your family's address or your actual address. Such uncertainly may lead to a request for additional references which may delay issuance of the passport.

In a nutshell, what I'm saying is be truthful. This way, even your family will be clear where your "current home address" is. Goodluck!

I went to the Passport Canada to apply the Canadian passport and now I could get it.

As a result of "Current Home Address", I needed to write my other country's address where I live now.
I submitted the application form with my Canadian address as I couldn't enter my current other country's address in the electronic forms in PDF format for Canadians in Canada. I went to the passport office and the officer checked my current work and asked me to rewrite the address from Canadian one to my real current one. Then they accepted my application form.

To wrap up, a Canadian who lives in other country can apply his/her Canadian Passport while he/she visits and stays in Canada with his/her real current address of the other country. But make sure in this situation, he/she need at least one valid photo ID issued in Canada. If his/her Canadian health card or Canadian Driver's license had expired while he/she lives overseas, he/she cannot apply his/her Canadian passport in Canada. His/Her other country's passport cannot be used as his/her photo ID.

Thank you for your help!
