Applyinf for citizenship

Hello guys

A friend of mine just asked me... that she is applied for citizenship application and she is waiting for the date of interviw and test.

she heard that sometimes this issuse may take months and sometimes a year - is she allowed to go out for a trip for 2-3 month may be more, or she should stay physcailly in Canada until get her citizenship

Did her citizenship application contain an intend to reside clause? There is nothing stopping someone from taking a trip while their application is pending, but such person should be prepared to return to Canada at short notice for the test/ interview or oath. Being out of the country on personal business is generally not accepted as reason to miss citizenship events. Also, if there is an intent to reside clause, she needs to make sure that she maintains adequate and demonstrable residential links to Canada during the time she is away or it could be possible IRCC/CIC would conclude she did not intend to reside in Canada after the oath.
