Hi everyone,
Thank you in advance and I really need your help.
I'm currently preparing for the application of work visa to work in Canada as a postdoc fellow. However, the expected processing time for the application from my home country is too long. Therefore, I would like to find out ways to shorten the visa processing time. Below are the two possible options, which I'm not quite confident whether they will work.
1) As application from the US is expected to be relatively fast, I'd like to know whether it could be possible for me to apply from the US instead of from my home country? I have a J2 visa as my wife is doing postdoc in US with a J1 visa, therefore traveling to US is kind of easy for me. However, I don't know whether application from US as in my case is easy or not, compared with application from my home country.
2) Not mutually exclusive from 1), I noticed that global skills strategy policy may accelerate the application process. It seems that I belong to the category of researchers, though I'm not quite sure. I'd like to know that in my case as a postdoc, whether the global skills strategy would be applicable to me.
Thank you very much for your reply!!
