Greetings to everyone. Your opinion much appreciated!
In the past I won a US permanent residence through green card lottery, but I returned to my home country a few years ago, so the residence is presumably considered abandoned now (the card itself hasn't expired yet though). I also used the green card to enter Canada on a short trip from the US once.
Now I intend to apply for Canada permanent residence either through EE + PNP or come to study to Canada and find a job after that. I do not see any questions about countries which have ever issued permanent residence to the applicant in the EE application forms. They only ask for citizenships and country of current residence.
Can my abandoned US permanent residence affect my application to Canada in a negative way? If so, should I better take no actions regarding the US green card - or come to a US consulate to surrender the card to them and be on the safe side?
Thanks for your attention to my question!
