Apply To A New Work Permit

Hello All,

My story is: my employer is applying for LMO for me currently, and they submitted the application approximately two weeks ago. According to the information I gathered, the processing time for LMO now takes up to three months. Worst case scenario, it takes three months, so by the time they have got a positive LMO, it should be in the middle of January; however, my current study permit expires on December 21st.

So firstly, can I apply for Restoration of Status if that happens? Or is it sensible to apply for a work permit in China?

Second:if the LMO turns out to be positive before my status expires, say at the beginning of December, and the current processing time of a new work permit is 58 days, which converts to three months. Can I stay in Canada while I am waiting for the new work permit to be processed? Provided that I apply for WP online.(It seems that I am qualified to do so.)

Third: it seems that flapoling is another option. But when I applied for my study permit, I did not apply for a TRV at the same time; because it was a six-month programme and I saw no reason to re-enter Canada during the study, I did not apply for one. From what I read, if one wants to flagpole, one needs a TRV in order to do so. So should I apply for a TRV now, just in case that I need to flagpole.
