apply study permit after applying for spousal sponsorship

I am applying for spousal sponsorship and was planning to apply study permit so that I can bring the spouse during the time application is processed. Is it possible to do this? Should I apply for study permit first then sponsorship or the other way? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
