Apply student permit inside Canada whiles on visitors status

Can I apply student permit in Canada whilst I’m on visitor visa? I have admissions to one college and want submit my visa application whilst I’m in Canada for visit

You can - but it's harder to be approved since it's more difficult to demonstrate strong ties to your home country. It's better to apply while outside of Canada.

Also, if you apply while inside of Canada, your application cannot be processed through a visa office in Canada. It must either be sent to the visa office responsible for your home country or the US.

I am an Australian citizen, if I wanted to apply for a student visa is it required that I be Australia? Can I just be in the US while I do that since technically it would be outside Canada. tnx.
