Apply Post-Graduate Work Permit and Temporary Resident Visa at same time?

Hi,

I'm currently on a study permit only and I'm going to apply for my post graduate work permit. Can I apply for both the post graduate work permit and temporary resident visa at the same time?

or is there an order to this? like I need to get pgwp first and then apply for trv as the second step?

Reason I'm asking is I want to return to my home country next month so the timings are a bit tight.

You have to first apply PGWP and then TRV bcoz u need to upload PGWP copy when u will apply your TRV.

Sorry Anoop, i'm a bit confused with this topic, if you could please clarify. my question may seem silly, but don't we just need pgwp after studies, what does trv has to do here?

1. PGWP allows you to 'work in Canada' after completing your studies. TRV allows you to 'enter Canada'. You can not enter Canada with PGWP alone.

Thanks for replying.. But suppose, if in my case, I do not leave canada and my visa gets expire and i get a pswp. in this case:
1. Can I stay in canada without a trv?(is it legal)
2. If I do stay without it, will I face a problem at time of applying for Provincial Nomination or for CIC for PR, later?

Also, can a study permit exceed the visa date issued on passport?
