Apply Outland can wife come back into country? (Currently in canada)

Hey everyone!

Can my wife come back into Canada from Taiwan if we apply Outland before she leaves Canada? We want to apply Outland but visit Taiwan during Chinese New Year then come back after 3-5 weeks. She will be coming back 2 or 3 weeks after by herself. Will she have any issues coming into the border? Is a one way ticket okay? We want to apply Outland because it's faster than inland. Any answers are much appreciated!

Yes, she can do that. She should carry proof of the PR app and proof of funds. She is just coming to visit you while the PR app is processed. She is not living in or moving to Canada.

Also, she's currently here and won't be leaving until late January. She got a 6 month visa previously for visiting back in October,

She should be allowed back in, but it is up to the border agent and is never a sure thing. She should bring proof of ties to Taiwan, proof of funds, and proof that you have started the PR application. A return ticket with a specific date is a good idea; in any case, many airlines will not allow people to board a plane without a return or onward ticket. She has to be clear at the border that she is just visiting Canada while she waits for the PR application to be processed. Usually people in this situation from countries that do not need a visitor visa are let in.
