I have a 3-year job offer from an employer in Canada and their application for Global Talent Stream LMIA has returned positive. I am applying for my own work permit and it seems I have all the necessary papers to proceed. My concern is whether it's possible for my wife to apply for an Open Work permit in the same application package as mine? Does this type of application increase the chance of refusal? Is it better for my wife to apply for a visitor visa instead?
As for the visitor visa of my 5yo (and possibly my wife's), what kind of period should I put in for the part where the form asks for "Indicate how long you plan to stay"? What amount of fund should I put in the box for "Funds available for my stay (CAD)" - given that my job offer is 120 000 CAD a year?
My kid goes to primary school next year (2023 - now it's 2022). From my research, as long as I have a work permit and I stay in Canada, my kid will be allowed to go to primary school without a student visa but that's in 10-12 months time. My main concern is the visiting period I'm putting in for her right now when I do my visa application.
Thank you for all the inputs
