Hi All,
I am planning to apply immigration to canada this year. My father have nationality of USA, Can I apply from USA for fastes and get additional points.

No extra points for Father being a US national.


You can apply from US, but I do not think it helps you in faster processing. You will need to submit your passport for about 5 weeks, so you need to consider that before deciding where to apply from

I would like to ask more thing that I am married and two kids, Bachelor degree in computer science, one year diploma in computer science, 10 year experience in relavant field after graduation, how much band I have to get in IELTS. and
Should I appear in the exam before submitting applying?

Does your work profile fall in the 38 occupation list?
To get full points in Language proficieny you need a over all band of 7.0
its good idea to take the exam before you apply so that you can ensure your points in advance....

First of all you need to qualify under 38 occupations listed in MI and then get 67 points. Please use elegibility tool and take self assesment test at the following link.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

Once you know how many points you are getting without IELTS, say 53, subtract it from 67 and you get the answer how many points you need from IELTS. Maximum you can get 16 from IELTS
