Hello everyone.

Just want to know something which I am really confused about. I have gotta TRV for Canada for 4 years. I am married to a Canadian national and we were thinking to apply outland sponsorship but things are not going good so we are deciding to go to Canada asap and apply for Inland sponsorship. I would like to know if I have 4 years visa ..do I still have the restriction to stay max 6 months.

Secondly, will I be able to get a Work Permit and how long will it normally take? Do I need to apply for inland sponsorship before getting a work permit.

What would be the best way. Pls advice

You need to submit the OWP application along with the inland sponsorship application. The OWP will be approved approximately four months after you submit the inland sponsorship application.

Once you submit the inland application, you can remain in Canada until a decision is made in your application.

A couple weeks travel is ok, but any more than that you risk being refused, as one of the requirements is inland applicants have to remain in Canada. A TRV is no guarantee that you can re-enter Canada. You can't apply for OWP with outland.

Overall, applying outland is better for most people, as the processing time is way shorter and you can freely travel outside Canada. Also you can appeal a refusal, you can't do that with inland.
