Hi,
I don't know if this will be much help, but these forums have really helped me. I thought I would share my experiences in applying for a work permit at the port of entry. I had applied for a LMIA-exempt work permit in early July. The job fell under the Global Skills Strategy two-week processing, but after two months of new updates, I decided to apply at the port of entry. I called the Border Service Agency ahead of time, explaining my situation, and the lady immediately said the border is closed with tight restrictions. This did not give me much hope, but I did qualify for what IRCC listed out during COVID-19 to apply at port of entry. So I entered from the Skagway AK/Fraser BC Port of Entry. I had a binder with my job offer and my qualifications for the job, quarantine plans, and my application for proof of citizenship that I applied for in May. The officers were very nice and were able to go into my online application and approve it from there. Just wish I had tried this two months earlier!
