My mother is in Canada now as a visitor and she has a valid visitor record (expiring August 31, 2019). Her passport and TRV will be expired in January 2020 so she has to renew her passport and reapply for TRV.
Questions:
1. We plan to renew visitor record using old passport. If her passport renewal application gets approved (hence passport number changes) while her application for visitor record extension is still in process. Will it affect her application?
2. Is there a way to apply for a new TRV on her new passport within Canada? Or does she have to go back to her home country to apply for one?
3. Her visitor record was issued in November 2018 and expires August 31, 2019. She left Canada in January 2019 and returned on Feb 13 2019. I'm not sure which timestamp should we follow as expiry date of her visitor status. August 14, 2019(6 months of last entry date) or August 31, 2019(expiry date on he visitor record). I hope it's the second one as we plan to apply for extension at the end of the month.
