I'm Canadian and my wife has her visitor visa for Canada, I have some questions:
1. Can my wife use her visitor visa to move back to Canada with me? We will apply for her PR under spouse sponsorship immigration while she is living there with me?
2. Whether she needs to apply for a temporary residents visa? She needs to apply for it before leaving for Canada or can do it after arrival there?
3. If it's applicable, the advantage is we don't need to wait over one year overseas and the waiting time can be in Canada. Any disadvantages to this?
Thank you!

.........I'm Canadian and my wife has her visitor visa for Canada............

1. if your wife has a visitor visa, she can enter Canada and live with you, then apply for inland spousal sponsorship + OWP while living with you inside Canada.

2. temporary resident visa is same as visitor visa and need to apply and get approved before you can travel or visit Canada.

3. inland spousal sponsorship + OWP (for implied status and allow working), sponsor and applicant should be living inside Canada while application is while PR application been processed......but unlike outland spousal sponsorship, if for whatever reason the sponsorship is not approved, you can't appeal......most outland and inland take around 12 months to complete processing.

Just want to clarify that your wife can come with you as a visitor to Canada but can't officially move until she gets PR. She can't show up at the border with all her belongings.

Very appreciate your detailed reply. It looks like we'd better file her application sooner and we can move back as soon as her PR gets approval.

Thank you very much for the clarification. We may visit Canada as usual till my wife gets her PR and then will relocate back with me. Meanwhile, we have to get the application prepared and submitted sooner.

Dear Wikki,

I very much appreciate your previous following reply. Since my wife's visitor visa has expired, she is waiting for the new one and then we will make our final decision of inland or outland application.

I have a question on your reply 3: "but unlike outland spousal sponsorship if for whatever reason the sponsorship is not approved, you can't appeal......". I understand the inland may not be able to appeal in case the application is not approved. Does it mean we can't resubmit another application again with additional supporting documents or if there are any other options?

Thank you so much!
