Apply for SOWP based on PGWP from India..

Hello everyone,

My case is a bit complex. My wife got study permit and I got SOWP from Aug 2014 to Dec 2015. Before it expires, my wife applied for PGWP and she just got it in March-16. But I did not apply for my SOWP extension. So now I do not have valid WP but she does have PGWP. We are right now in India.

So now to apply for my SOWP based on PGWP what should I do? Can I apply SOWP from India based on PGWP or do I need to wait until my wife gets a job in N, O or A skill category in Canada and gets a first paystub?

Can anyone please guide me on this?

You can't apply for SOWP based on PGWP.

Your spouse should have a NOC O, A, B or C skill level job along with PGWP to make you eligible for SOWP.

Yes, wait until she get some documents like offer letter, payslips etc.,

In the mean time, get your bank accounts ready with sufficient funds (atleast 15k) to strengthen up your case.

Also me and my wife is currently in India. She got PGWP in last month. Now I need to apply for TRV as she is in India. For that application which additional documents do I need to submit?

Do I need to submit her income tax returns, bank statements, proof of residence in Canada? If yes then how much funds does she needs to show in her account?

Please guide.

Just to clarify you on GREENHAWK response and your question about NOC Code job category --

Your wife needs to get a job in NOC CODE - O, A or B. Ideally I would recommend to work for at least a month before submitting SOWP application. Also do ask her to get solid proof of showing job category falls under above mentioned category. For example.. Job description letter explaining duties and responsibilities.

This have been major issue for PGWP based application for rejection when applicants fails to show their job as one of those category. Just simply writing NOC A job and title would not do the justification.
