Apply for PR renewal or PRTD?

Hi I will be traveling to India on March 15th, and my PR will expire in June.. Should I apply for PR extension now? or apply PRTD when I reach India.
My friends suggested I apply PR extension now, and he can courier it to me if I get my PR when I'm outside. Pls suggest?

There are no PR extension. There is PR renewal and yes he can courier it to you if he get your card when you are outside Canada. Otherwise apply PRTD or go to the USA.

Are you a frequent flyer? December you said you going to fly in January and now in Feb you said you going to fly in March!

Do you currently meet your RO? Will you continue meeting the 730 days in the past 5 years while outside Canada. You may end up needing to apply for a new PR card and a PRTD depending on how long you are outside Canada and how long it takes to get your new PR card. If you currently meet your RO I would apply now. You can apply up to 9 months in advance and if this is your first PR card the 5 year period usually ends a few months before the expiry date of your PR card.
