apply for express entry without including spouse

I'am an international student in Toronto
My husband is with me and has open work permit
we have 5 years old son who has visitor record permit.
As a current international student if I apply for express entry without including spouse and if I get the permanent resident status what happens next with my family that are accompanying me as a student?
What status will they have during the waiting time for family sponsorship?

Since your husband is already with you in Canada, you'll most likely have a lot of trouble listing him as non-accompanying in your application. CIC will most likely tell you he must be included as an accompanying since it's quite clear he has plans to live in Canada now.
