Hello folks,
long time reader but my first post so pl be gentle in responses.
I applied for TRV in person at the Canadian consulate in Detroit on 27th june 2011 for the family multiple entry. We have to attend H1-B visa interview in Calgary on july 12th. Gave all the req. paperwork and in fact got commended for the papers in perfect order from the guy who initially checks for the paperwork.
Went back at 2.30 and was told that my wife's and mine is stuck in database merging and updating. My daughter's has cleared but will have to await processing till ours is cleared. Went back next day, same thing. They said on july 5th there is a good chance our's will clear. Went back to Detroit paying 800 dollar plane ticket from Houston. Same thing on 5th and 6th. On 6th July, the lady at the information desk on 11th floor told me that ours was one of the 5% of cases. Finally, gave them a self addressed us express mail packet and came back.
Just wondering if this has happened to others who applied IN PERSON. If so how long did it take to clear?
BTW most who applied in the morning before 11.30 am got it the SAME day in the afternoon at 2.30 pm. Of about 100 who applied seems like 2 or 3 were rejected and about 10 were asked for more paperwork.
Thanks
DSC
