Hey folks,

I have come across a situation with my parents visit visa and need your friendly advices.

I'm a permanent resident of canada and recently( on 27th oct) applied for Trv for my parents online.

Now I wasnt smart enough to search for useful threads like these to completley assess the requirements specially financial wise.

My parents both have an extensive travel history ( both europ and US) and were always ok with the financial support documents they provided( basically only their bank statement was enough).
Based on previous expriences i submitted their apication with a bank statement having around 3 to 4k and and a title deed in my fathers name and his employment letter. Once subimtted i came across this forum and realized there are certain unwritten rules (like 1000 dollars per week of stay) for canadian visa. now considering the period of stay i have provided in the forms (3 months) and the amount in my fathers account, i feel there is a good chance that they might get rejected.

My questions to you based on above:
1. Can i withdraw the application to submit a new one with more robust financial support documents?
2. Will i get refund for the fees?
3. Will it have a negative impact on their next visa application if i withdraw current application?
4. What do you think are the chances of getting the visa if id dont withdraw considering the fact that all other factors( like ties to home country, travel history etc ) look satisfactory.

Your help is much appreicated here.

1. Depends if you can do so, if your VO's processing time is more than 2 weeks.
2. No.
3. Likely not.
4. You haven't given enough information for us to speculate considerably, but if their travel history is as extensive as you say it is, it might work in their favor.

Anyway, IMO, I don't think withdrawing will help. If you ask me, you might as well wait out the result of this application. Who knows, they might get lucky. That's just my 2 cents.

Thanks bellaluna,
They have yet to submit their biometrics and for that reason they need to travel to a neighbor country as there are no VAC offices in Iran. So that's an extra cost that would be added. As you said, despite lack of enough financial support documents, they may end up getting the visa as i hear they are issuing visas for parents easier these days. Cheers

Financials are a very big part of a TRV app. With only $3000-$4000 in the bank and asking for a 3 month stay, there isn't much chance of approval regardless of their travel history.

So in your opinion, which one is worse? Keeping the application and a probable rejecrion or dropping the case and reapplying?

I just wanna know if dropping the application would give the wrong impression to the officer that will go through the case after reapplying? What do you think?
Thanks

That choice is up to you. You don't need to give a reason for withdrawing. Plans change, life happens, people have to withdraw for whatever reason, so it won't automatically be seen as a negative.
