Hello everybody!
I had applied for a Canadian Tourist Visa, but received a WX-1 worker visa (single entry valid for six months). I had clearly stated in my application form that I am a student in India and my sole purpose of visit to Canada is to attend a technical conference for a week, after which I shall return to India. The funding for this trip is to be provided by my university and two other Government organizations.
I do not have a work permit nor can i receive it as I am still a student. I have no prior job experiences.
My query is thus:
1. Do I need a work permit to enter Canada?
2. Will WX-1 visa serve the purpose of my temporary stay in Canada for a week?
