My parents have a valid regular visa and biometrics that will expire in 4 years. I have applied for Super Visa AND indicated to do the biometrics again and PAID for them. Today, I received a message that application approved and a "Biometric Validity Letter".

Soooo they cannot do biometrics again for a validity of 10 years from now? And the money I paid for biometrics....umm charity?
Btw, the letter says, "...if you wish to extend the validity of your permit or visa beyond the validity date indicated above you can provide your biometric information again and pay the associated fee for another ten-year validity." <-- isn't that why in the application I indicated "Yes" to do biometrics again and paid for it?

I find that very bizarre.....thoughts?

You should get a refund for the biometrics. If you don’t request one. If you requested to do biometrics again then that is why you were charged and needed to pay. For various reasons someone may want to redo their biometrics now versus wait 4 years. Most will want to wait until the 10 years is up but some people live far away from VFS so may opt to redo if they know they will be close to the office during this application. If you don’t redo the biometrics you can also request a refund.

If your parents are in India, then better to take a refund for the biometrics. Appointments are very tough to get and there is no walk-in owing to covid.

Well, I requested to do the biometrics again. But apparently the officer didn't want us to?? Is there a way to contact them and ask to re-do the biometrics?

How can I request a refund, though? Besides, would requesting for GCMS notes be useful?
