Hi all!

I have done tons of research on the internet and could not find an answer. Please Help me!

My husband and I already applied for Permanent residency 2months ago WITHIN Canada.
Today we found out that we are expecting a baby and the due date might be in Sep,2012.

Q1: Will we go through medical examination requested by CIC on our PR even if we lived in Quebec for last 2 years? If yes, then is it possible to have it while I am pregnant?/We did not do med.exam to receive our CSQ./
Q2: What are the major issues we should consider by choosing to have this baby in QUEBEC?
Q3: I have work permit and my husband has study permit, what about pregnancy and delivery coverage? We have a private insurance.

Thank you!!!

1. Everybody who applies for PR must do the medicals. If you do not want to do the x-ray because of the pregnancy, you can delay the medicals until after the baby is born.

2. It seems from 3 that the major issue will be that you do not have health coverage. If the baby is born in Quebec, it will be a Canadian citizen and will not affect your PR application.

3. If you are not entitled to health coverage in Quebec, you will have to look to your private insurance to cover those expenses. If you are not covered for them, you will not be able to get any such insurance after you are already pregnant.

Thank you very much ,Leon!

I appreciate your immediate reply. It seems you know well about immigration process.

Could you please tell me, what is the average waiting/processing time between :
-submitting PR application form within Canada and receiving med.exam documents,
-submiting med.exam results and actually getting the PR.

Thank you!

It varies so much between application classes and individual applicants but if you go to trackitt.com you can look at and compare peoples timelines.

hi ru on open work permit? if not then you can apply for RAMQ health card.
btw u can finish medical without xray but buffalo CIC is very slow specially with CSQ cases.

i suggest you visit RAMQ office and consult with manager abt ur case and plz look for gyno asp because there is huge shortage of GYNO in Montreal.
plz let me know if you need further info,my wife delivered at st mary in nov 2011 so have some knowledge.
