Applications status in "IP"

Dear friends

My application status is " IP " since May 2014 and also I did my second medical on October 2014 too. I am resident of Afghanistan, its being about 8 month that I didn't receive my passport request yet.


Please help me people

Hello. I'm rather new to this forum myself, so I don't know how much help I can be, but I wanted to say that your post is a little unclear. I think you did not really provide a clear explanation of your situation and of your question.

1. Who are you being sponsored by? Canadian citizen or PR?

2. Under what category? Spouse, partner, parent, child?

3. Has the SA (Sponsor Approval) been received?

Please go to the CIC website (cic.gc.ca) and look up Processing Times: Family Sponsorship.

If the sponsor has been approved, then they are working on the assessment of the main applicant (you). This can take many, many months depending on which processing office. I think PR applications from Afghanistan are being processed in the New Delhi office, and you can find that processing times for New Delhi are:

New Delhi – India 15 MONTHS

So, I don't think there is anything you can do at this point since 15 months have not passed yet for you. But maybe a more senior poster here has a better explanation for you.

Personally, I'd call your MP or the call center as it probably isn't quite your 'time' but 8 months 'in process' seems long as I understood the 15 month process to be after SA was issued until DM. Which in some cases is three months for some VO's For example ( my VO is Ottawa though) I had SA in July, documents such as CSQ and my son's birth certificate were requested in August I had a hard time getting the color copy of my passport for my CSQ, so long story short, my application went 'in process' on December 29th and went 'decision made' yesterday. So I'd look into it, it can't hurt. That way if you have been lost in the shuffle, so to speak, someone should be able to locate you. It may not help too much but it doesn't hurt either.
