Dear friends/Seniors

Its nice to see all the good news for fellow friends.

I could not follow this thread, since I was in china from past 2 months, After coming back have checked with my Bank for clearance of dd but got the news that it still is not cleared, and cic also has not written any thing back to me, I have applied under 1122. and my full application reached Nova scotia on 1st Nov, and now the situation is:- i dont know what is happening on my application, and was i able to make in to 1000 applications cut off or not.

I will be to thankful to members of this forum if you can help me providing email id for communicating with nova scotia. and also pl advise if mentioning awb no of the courier sent will be sufficient for CIC to answer my query about the status or will i need to mention any other details too.

Will look forward for your favoured replies.

Regards,
Raj
Sorry my friend, but if your application reached CIO on 1 November, than i don't think that it's under the cap. In NOC 1122, cap was reached 28 or 29 October :( Probablt, they've returned your app by snail Canada mail :( You can ask about it here:

Hello everyone!

I've been a little busy off late and so haven't been able to check the forum as regularly but I am glad to see it moving along so well, what with the steady drizzle of PERs and the ever so interesting debates.

Congratulations to all the new PER receivers and I wish you luck and success in the rest of the process as well.

Advance123, thank you for sharing your ideas here, this is what the forum is all about. It is great to hear different thoughts and ideas because it helps everyone broaden their perspectives and perhaps see things clearer than before. I, personally, agree with the 'PER' phrase since what we have received from the CIO mentions ' your application has received a POSITIVE FINAL determination of eligibility'. I agree with you that this does not guarantee a visa but it does clearly use both the words 'positive' and 'final'. Having said that, I'm sure the VO will quickly make a second eligibility review just to cross check that the CIO got it right the first time (since we are the guinea pigs of the new system) and then proceed to the security and background checks (which in my opinion will be next serious challenge for our applications to clear). I'll be glad to hear other people's opinions in this regard as well.

Finally, it is heartening to see something show up on the e-cas, even if the information is erroneous, I'm sure they will get around to fixing it soon enough. Cam, thanks for clearing up for us how our medicals got to the VOs without our knowledge. I could agree with queencougar too, we may have been abducted by aliens who work for the CIC. Unless of course, our applications have charmed them to such an extent that they have decided to waive off the medicals for the first time in history!!! (reaching for too much?)

All the best to everyone waiting for their PERs today and in the coming week. Loads of good luck to everyone who have already received their PERs as well, it would be great to receive medical requests soon (although maybe not for another few weeks?).

Thanks a Ton Amro! Will keep everybody updated on further communication.

However, now that the PER has come through, what happens next at the VO?

I've read the procedure but am uncertain about time frames!

Anybody have any real experience with this>

Hi Odin,

Glad I could force a snicker. ;D

It's anybody's guess right now about what happens at the VOs. None of the PER receivers have heard anything from them as yet, but once they do, you can be sure the first place to hear about it will be here in the forum.

@ Rina: Hi, have you heard anything from them as yet, we're eagerly waiting to hear from you. All the best.

Wouldn't it make sense for her to call them up and ask for a status? I guess the PER mail might have landed in Junk mail or some email failure as for some of our members?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

I am giving the information I have so that people won't be confused. My sources are confidential and so far with all the applications I've been involved with, they have been right. Certain things are personal including the sources of my information. It is not essential for it to be approved or accepted, I am simply sharing information. Normally I don't get myself involved with these debates because of my busy daily schedule. I am only getting involved today because I am off work for the day. When you talk about experience you assume I haven't been through this process before. I have done this before for people close to me. I only decided to apply because Architecture was included in June 2010. I will reiterate, the final indicates final eligibility review not verification of application. The CIO work based on laid down guidelines but the VO is given a bit of license to determine the veracity of an application. They can approve or disapprove based on intuition. They are the most important obstacle.

Hi Advance123, On page 333 of this thread, our friend Temasek had compared the PER's we have received and the AOR's received by our predecessors (Pre june 26 applicants). In fact, this is the post that lead to the coining of the acronym PER as the word 'FINAL' was the biggest difference. So what is your opinion on the difference in these two AOR's (or your secret source's opinion?).
The two AOR's are glaringly different as we all can see.

Quite True.

Also someone earlier mentioned adding the email address to contacts to ensure this does not happen.

Post PER - I have been reading some other blogs about medicals etc. and general communication from the VO. I believe the lead time there is 90 days, although I cannot say this for certain.

Cheers

just to share,

Glossary of Terms and Concepts

C50 Eligibility Determination: Pre-processing stage that comprises the two reviews of the application against Ministerial Instructions that occur at CIO Sydney and at the visa office responsible for the application. Once this stage is complete, processing either begins with a positive eligibility determination or the application is closed and processing fees are refunded.

C50 Final Eligibility Determination: Review of the complete application against Ministerial Instruction eligibility criteria performed at visa office after referral from CIO Sydney. This review draws on local expertise crucial in evaluating supporting documents submitted to the visa office that are not initially provided to CIO Sydney.

C50 Initial Eligibility Determination: Review of the preliminary application received at CIO Sydney. A positive decision regarding eligibility for processing (Paper-screening decision “4”) results in the electronic transfer of the application to the responsible visa office abroad. The date of this decision constitutes the lock-in date for processing. Processing time service standards are calculated from this date.

Based on the above, is it safe to assume a lead period of 10 months (n.Delhi) from the receipt of the PER?
