Hello everyone!
I've been a little busy off late and so haven't been able to check the forum as regularly but I am glad to see it moving along so well, what with the steady drizzle of PERs and the ever so interesting debates.
Congratulations to all the new PER receivers and I wish you luck and success in the rest of the process as well.
Advance123, thank you for sharing your ideas here, this is what the forum is all about. It is great to hear different thoughts and ideas because it helps everyone broaden their perspectives and perhaps see things clearer than before. I, personally, agree with the 'PER' phrase since what we have received from the CIO mentions ' your application has received a POSITIVE FINAL determination of eligibility'. I agree with you that this does not guarantee a visa but it does clearly use both the words 'positive' and 'final'. Having said that, I'm sure the VO will quickly make a second eligibility review just to cross check that the CIO got it right the first time (since we are the guinea pigs of the new system) and then proceed to the security and background checks (which in my opinion will be next serious challenge for our applications to clear). I'll be glad to hear other people's opinions in this regard as well.
Finally, it is heartening to see something show up on the e-cas, even if the information is erroneous, I'm sure they will get around to fixing it soon enough. Cam, thanks for clearing up for us how our medicals got to the VOs without our knowledge. I could agree with queencougar too, we may have been abducted by aliens who work for the CIC. Unless of course, our applications have charmed them to such an extent that they have decided to waive off the medicals for the first time in history!!! (reaching for too much?)
All the best to everyone waiting for their PERs today and in the coming week. Loads of good luck to everyone who have already received their PERs as well, it would be great to receive medical requests soon (although maybe not for another few weeks?).
