Firstly, my condolences to those involved in the Alexandria incident. Although of no faith myself, I have the deepest sympathy and hope that all faiths will embrace peace. We must understand that evil people will always try to create division and strife amongst good people for the purpose of promoting war and hatred and they will try to destroy fellowship and understanding. They must not be allowed to do this - I hope the majority of honest, decent folk will not allow themselves to be drawn by their crude and vengeful acts, despite their grief and anger at this atrocity.

Engy and all other forum members from Egypt, it truly was a terrible event especially since the day was meant to be filled with joy. I hope everyone in Egypt can look beyond this and move on without any further trouble. These things are usually done to plant the seeds of chaos in society and if ordinary people refuse to fall victim to the manipulation we would all live in a more peaceful and well rounded society.

Dear All,

I am in a fix now a days. I applied on September 02, 2010 under the new rules and got the PER/AOR (Positive Eligibility Review) by the CIO on December 20, 2010 in which they mentioned that the file was then being transferred to the VO (London in my case) I am currently living in Pakistan and doing job here. I applied for the admission in a Master's program and recently got admission; therefore, I am going to leave Pakistan shortly in a month. Could someone guide :

1. When would I be required to inform the CIO/VO regarding these changes?
2. What is the procedure to inform them about these changes?
3. Can I retain/keep my correspondence address to be the previous one? (Pakistani)
4. If I receive a letter for medicals in future, can I take my medicals in the country I am moving to?
5. If I receive an interview call in future, would I have to appear in London/Islamabad or the VO of the country I am moving to?
6. The following is an excerpt from the latest EG7 document:

"If you are including your police certificates with your application to the CIO, please ensure that your certificates were not issued more than three months earlier. Police certificates are generally valid for 12 months from the date they are issued. However, if a final decision is not made on your application before the expiry of your police certificate, the visa office may request that you provide a new one."

Since I am leaving Pakistan shortly, I have made a fresh police clearance certificate till December 28, 2010. What does the above statement mean? I mean if the VO asks me for the PCC (I haven't yet sent), must it be no more older than 3 months at "that" moment?? or it implies that the PCC should be no more older than 3 months "before" the launching of the application itself? Kindly enlighten?

I took my BD/DD from HSBC. When I asked for the confirmation of en-cashment of my DD, they provided me a paper on next day which mentioned that the demand draft is already been reconciled on 12 December 2010. I can't remember whether the time is mentioned or not but I will check it soon. Now the question is how they en-cashed it on Sunday? However, since they gave me written docs it should be authentic.

Happy New Year EVERYONE! I hope you will all spend LONGER in 2011 than you did in 2010 by virtue of the fact you will be celebrating NEXT New Year's Eve in Canada, thus most of you will be near the END of the 24 hour clock before you see midnight.....(hope that makes sense, but I didn't get much sleep last night...partying it up at my 88 year old parents' with my husband!!!)
Anyway, back to the group, I extend my condolences to those affected by the bombing in Egypt, fighting in so many other countries and all the natural disasters elsewhere around the world that disrupted the joy of the season. Canada has her problems, but they seem so minor much of the time. Bringing together people from so many cultures and the challenges of finding good jobs puts stress on everyone. We all dream of a time when the world could be at peace. It has to start somewhere and it could just be the seed of this Forum thread that makes a huge difference.
