Application Update Message After Refusal

I had received a mail on 13th May, 1:34PM IST that my application has been updated. And when I checked the CIC account it showed that my application was refused and there was a correspondence letter citing the reasons as well.

However, today, on 14th May 1:34PM IST I received another mail stating that my application has been updated, but there were no notifications in the account.

Is this normal or are there still some chances? I wanted to re-apply for TRV. So am I supposed to wait till the "Application Status" is "Closed" or can I go ahead with new application?

Yes I had applied online and received the final decision exactly on 35th day (had applied on 8th April).

Have no ideas about Sundays. That's why it came as a shocker to me - A Update message after refusal.

It has been rejected for the reasons:

• Length of Proposed Stay in Canada
• Purpose of Visit.

Can I re-apply for 20 days (earlier it was 30 days) and add a travel itinerary under purpose of visit? Will it increase my chances of approval?

2. Also some information about your personal and professional situation such as your employment, any property ownership, do you live with family members who are dependent on you?

3. Have you traveled to other countries which require visas? If yes, do you have any valid visas?

4. Did the invitation letter/any explanation state that you and your husband will apply for PR later?

hello everyone , swapna m dealing with the same situation i got same kinda refusal on 13 may at 12.13 pm . But till now i havent got the reason behind the rejection , its been more than 48 hours bt no message has been received for the reason behind rejection . bryanna plz help

my itinerary was of 15 days stay in usa and 1 month stay in canada . now i m planning to go to usa . will it be better to reapply from usa or from india only
my purpose of visit to canada was to meet my sister their who is PR .. waiting for reply bryanna

Hi sorry for delay, m worked up with what to do next.

List of docs submitted:
1. all the forms that are mandatory IMMXXX
2. Letter of invitation from my husband
3. In proof of relationship - marriage certifcate
4. Purpose of visit - i had mentioned that he had come to india only for a duration of 10 days for the marriage and we didnt get enough time to spend together so I would visit him for a month which would get us some personal time and would also serve as our honeymoon. I had attached my Leave letter from the job that they had approved my leave.
5. For Financial support - I had attached bank statements of both me and my husband as he was gonna finance my stay and i was gonna stay at his home only. The total amount shown was CAD 15000

2. I am employed as a Web Developer and have been working in the same company since last 3 years (so have a very good reputation there and hence my leaves were approved). I am also a partner of a small family business here - but didnt mention it as it is not my primary source of income.

Post marriage I keep switching between my home and my in-laws home. I have to take care of my parents and in-laws as well. Have a brother who is 17yrs old

3. Not travelled anywhere

4. Nothing regarding plans of application of PR was mentioned. Should be mention it? no idea how it will affect the
application

Following an examination of your application, I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of the Act and the Regulations for the reasons explained below. I am therefore refusing your application.

Grounds for refusal:

Purpose of visit

You have not provided sufficient documentation to support your / your host's income and assets.

Your personal assets and financial status.

And, again i received a mail stating that "Your application has been updated. Please sign in to your account and check your application status and messages for more information"

So, i logged into my account and noticed as follows,

Application status - A final decision has been made. Please see the final decision below.
Review of eligibility - We regret to inform you that you do not meet the eligibility requirements. Please see the final decision below.
Review of medical results - You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.
Review of additional documents - The additional documents you provided are being reviewed. (didn't submit any documents after refusal)
Interview - You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics - We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes
Background check - Your background check was completed.
Final decision - Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

Still in progress online.
But it has been 28 days now and I haven't received my PASSPORT yet.

A few comments I would like to make here.

First, the update emails are usually sent 24 hours after the updates are made. If you're actively checking the status, email saying that your application has been updated is useless to you.

The status format has been updated by CIC recently but there is a computer glitch. The status for reviewing your additional documents can be incorrect.

My gut feeling is that if you're rejected and they have given you the reasons, there is nothing much you can do besides applying again unless you have reasons to believe that the agent has made a mistake.

So why the passports not returned yet as its already 28 days now after decision...
That's bothering me.
I am waiting for passports to reapply .
