I applied to extend my stay in Canada under a temporary visa. I'm married to a Canadian citizen and we'll apply for my PR, but we're still waiting for the marriage certificate (unfortunately, it seems they're not able to process it faster despite our efforts). So my doubts began when I received a message saying that I needed to undergo medical examination, then 2 days later I received a message saying that application was approved. This is my first point of confusion, do I need to go through the medical exam or not? I tried calling CIC but had no luck so far.
Secondly, on the letter attached to my application, they said the following:
"Your application to remain in Canada as a temporary resident has been approved. A secure
document has been mailed to you at the address that you provided when you made your
application."
Then it says:
"This letter is not valid for travel and is not a permit allowing you to remain in Canada."
Can someone provide any insight about whether my application was approved or not? and if the medical exam is needed?
Thank you very much!!
