Application Status

Hello all,

My girlfriend is sponsoring me under the family class. We sent off the application almost two months ago and are expecting to hear in the next few weeks if the initial part of the process has been successful i.e. that my girlfriend has been passed fit to sponsor. When we try to check the status of our application online we enter our Receipt Number as our Identification Type, as this is the only identification we have as yet. On each try it is telling us that it cannot identify us.

Does anyone know why this is?

You need to type in your UCI #. The number is right below the date the letter was dated. This is the sponsor's # not the applicant's. If that doesn't work then try within a week or so.

e-case won't be activated until they start working on your application during step 1 (usually same day or a couple days before decision is made) so you'll need to hang in there for another month or so. It's currently taking about 90 days for step 1 to complete per http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp.

After that you can use your UCI number to pull up info or application number once you get an AOR.

ya you have to wait for that letter that cic will email you and on it you will get your UCI number and thats the number you untill you have that number ur app will not show in the system
