application status help (sydney, canada)

hi,

I am currently residing in US. I send my initial application filed under category "Federal skilled worker" to Sydney, Canada almost 2 weeks back. Is there a way to check online if they have received my application or not and the status of it. If so, can someone please provide the link.

I haven't yet receive the acknowledgment letter.

Hi, this is the link to e-Cas status information. You can log-in though only if you have any of the types of ID provided in said link.

If you are not in Canada and do not have client ID number which is normally indicated on some of the temporary residence permits, then likely you will not be able to access your status until you have an immigration file number which is only included in AOR. If you have a receipt number, you can try to log-in as well.

If you sent your application with a tracking number thru a delivery service, at least you can double check that it has been delivered. But this will only confirm that delivery was made succesfully, and not confirm if a file has been opened for you by CIO.

The reason I asked is because I need to apply for state police certificate and FBI certificate. I just wanna make sure I line up everything.
Is it ok if I receive both the police certificate (local state and FBI) and then send the application to buffalo after 1 months incase there is delay in receiving the confirmation from cic (sydney, canada). How long are the police certificates eligible ??

They are eligible for three months and because you don't have a file number yet you might check with the post office that you have used to send your application to sydney to make sure that it got delivered and if you can't do so, try to check with your bank if they have cashed your money order or not yet because if they have done it means that they recieved and started processing your application

What will happen is this:

Upon approval by CIO, you will have 120 days from date of your AOR to submit full application (includes original police certs and FBI that you are concerned about) to Buffalo (because you are in the US) or your country of principal residence (if you prefer to send it there because it processes faster than Buffalo).

Have you applied for your state police certs and FBI certif? Check their timing from application to release of results because it might be smart for you to apply for these right away. When you receive state police cert and FBI, you can only submit them to your visa office within 3 months from their date of issue. State police cert and FBI are valid for one year.

If you are not a native English speaker, you would want to take IELTS as well. And you have to include that in planning your timing for submission.

You have to calculate your points using assessment calculator on CIC website to make sure that you make 67 points. If you make 67 points without IELTS, then taking IELTS will be optional on your part.

But if it comes up that you will need IELTS points to make 67, I suggest you take it. There are some instances where a candidate chooses to submit proof of English language ability in lieu of IELTS and is given 0 points by CIC thus making those applicants ineligible for not meeting 67 points requirement.

Here's my application details:

Mailed the application to Sydney, Canada on: May 30th, 2009.
Currently residing in Massachusetts, USA (Since August 2002)
My wife residing in MA, USA (Since August 2007)
Nationality: Indian

I just got the fingerprinting done this week but I am just waiting when to apply for state police certificate and FBI.

1) for Massachusetts state police certificate, I called them and they said it takes 2 weeks.
2) I am not sure about FBI certificate how long it takes.
3) IELTS date: June 27th, 2009.

I believe I don't need police certificate from India as I am currently residing in US.

Please suggest me when should I mail the documents to request both the police certificate.

Again I am assuming my application at Sydney, Canada will be accepted

Since I made a bank draft from "Bank of America", is there a way bank can find out if the money is cashed out or not?

if you lived in india for longer than 6months after the age of 18, you need an indian pcc.

Master's in Computer Science : 25 points
4 Years of experience : 21 points
Wife has bachelor degree 16 1/2 years : 4 points
wife's aunt is in canada : 5 points
age 29 yrs: : 10 points

Can someone comment about police certificate question.

They do this over the phone, I bank with them too.<<<<<<
