Hi Folks,

I got an ITA on the CIC draw held on 17th July. I am confused and worried regarding the below points. Could you please help answer my below queries.

  • I am a CEC applicant, but I got an ITA under FSW. Will there be any problem under this category.
  • Since as per my company policy, It does not provide any such Employer Reference letter on company letter head, and I am employed for the same company for past 6 years and worked in different geographies. How do I prove CIC regarding my employment if my employer is not providing the details on official letterhead. Even I provide all other necessary docs supporting my employment, Will my application be rejected. Has anyone faced similar situation in the past/ present. If YES, what is the current status of your application ?

This is a problem best known to the IT pepole employed overseas in an Indian IT firms.

Please help me answer the above two queries.

Thanks in advance.

If you're eligible for both CEC and FSW, CIC sends you an FSW invite. No problems here.

  • Since as per my company policy, It does not provide any such Employer Reference letter on company letter head, and I am employed for the same company for past 6 years and worked in different geographies. How do I prove CIC regarding my employment if my employer is not providing the details on official letterhead. Fairly common problem as you said. Get colleagues/supervisor to sign a "To whoever this may concern" type declaration that you prepare which has everything CIC needs on a reference letter. Include all the details about your employment including company name/contact/URL, designation, roles & responsibilities, tenure of employment, supervisor name/designation/contact details, working hours/week, full-time employment and salary details. Collect their business card as well. Get this declaration notarized and upload it and the business card along with a nicely drafted LOE that highlights your unsuccessful efforts at obtaining a reference letter in the required format from your employer and politely requests the officer to consider your application as complete and process the same on its merits. Add any other supporting document including pay stubs, job offer letter etc to reinforce the declaration. Inform your colleagues/supervisor to possibly expect a call from CIC (unlikely to happen with everyone but they do call if they doubt the legitimacy of employment).

That's the best you can do under the circumstances and this is a proven success route for applicants in your position over the years.

If your colleagues/supervisor refuse to sign such a declaration, sign it yourself as a last resort and make it sound like a self declaration, get it notarized and upload along with an LOE that highlights your unsuccessful attempts at getting such a letter from even your colleagues & supervisors and indicate that organizational HR policies forbid them from doing such a thing. Politely request the officer to consider your application as complete in all respects.

Hi Asivad

Would you also need to get the business card notarised in this situation or only the letter?

Thanks

Hey Mak
I am in the same boat as yours. Have requested by employers for a reference letter but in vain. Did you get a notarized declaration from your manager or did u self attest it ?
Hope it worked ? Please share your experience.
Thanks

Hi there!

So I'm the primary applicant and managed to get letters from both my employers. However my husband wasn't able to get it from all the employers. He's not been able to provide it for his current employer (as he did not want to disclose the plans in his org) and two employers when he started working (from 2006-2010).

However, we have provided a self-declaration along with salary slips from all employers and every documentation to prove that we were employed. This also includes offer letters, appraisal letters, relieving letters, ITRS and form 16s since 2008. U think it would still be a problem? Anyone who has got a ppr already; can you guide??

My aor is march 17, 2017. Med passed and background check is not applicable.
