Application Received - Meaning?

I see "Application sent" and "Application Received" on excel sheets.

What does "Application Received" date mean?


Will I get any confirmation from CIC that they received or its just the postal tracking (Date of delivery) ?




Many may find this question dumb, but please reply. I am trying to find this answer for sometime now. :'(

"Application Sent" is the date you sent your application by mail
"Application Received" is the date when CIC actually received your application (usually tracked by courier#)

For now it's the date you get from tracking the courier delivery. Once CIC begins processing your application, they will send you an acknowledgment of receipt (AOR) which will show the date they received it (usually, but not always, the delivery date)
