Application Process

I'm sorry for posting what will seem like an often repeated question but there seems to be so much conflicting information on this site that I can't find a straight answer!

Essentially, I want to know what is the process for my application.

Send all applications, documents, proof, police checks etc etc to Sydney on 8 October. My visa card was then charged the fees about 2 weeks later so I know everything has been received.

What is the next stage that I'm waiting for? I was under the assumption that I'd get sent a letter/email detailing my case number but nothing yet.

Could anyone let me know what the process is? I know timescales are hard to give but any vague ideas would be good too.

Hi Elegra,

Knowledge is power. I truly recommend you make yourself familiar with the immigration process, terminology, practices, expectations and timelines from authentic official sources first, then from forums and from other people experiences. The application process is lengthy and daunting and unless you are well aware of the process, you will be always stressed! Just thought to give this little advice.

To answer you, there are two links in the CIC website which are accessible once you log out from ecas. The one I'm pasting here is explaining the process for those who apply to nova scotia then VO. check this link and other links as well. You can find these links in this forum as well.
