Hello,

I had send my Permanent residency application (under CEC) to CIO Sydney, which was received by CIO on 13th March 2014. Although the fees was charged (through Visa) on 27th March 2014, but till now I haven't received my application file number or fee payment receipt. I also want to notify you that my online application status shows that my application has been received by CIO.

So, I am just wondering if there is any specific time period to receive the file number?

I am starting to be bit worried, because my friend sent application on 11th april 2014 and he received his application number within 3 weeks.

I am just wondering by any chance if I missed out the email (assuming email must have gone in spam).

Does any body face similar situation?

Have you tried checking your spam folder? Just to confirm, you applied for your PR under CEC?
If you don't find anything in your spam folder, then email CIO and ask them to confirm if processing has begun on your application and request them to forward you your file number.

Its completely case to case basis. We can never compare with any body. I hope you understand.
I have 3 of my friends, we started on the same day and today we all 3 of us are at diff stage of the PR process(with huge diff).

So i would suggest, you wait till next weekend and then send an email to CIC.

Hope it Helps!

Cheers

If your application has been received by CIO that for sure they issued you and AOR since they do that before they send it to Ottawa. You should call cic and ask, or send them an email. There shouldn't be a problem since they already sent it to Ottawa

This is probably one of the best posts; a welcome respite from all the daily whiny posts.

Hi:

It happened for few people. the email might have been missed. If you know your UCI no, then you try to login to online service.

I totally agree! Each case are most likely different from one another. The timelines can't be compared to each others to the specific day or week...
