APPLICATION IS TRANSFERRED TO ETOBICOKE OFFICE FOR FURTHER ASSESMENT?

Hello guys I need your help here.

I am a July 2015 inland applicant and we received the AOR last October 2015, got the OWP November 2015. Then finally sent us a letter stating that my husband is eligible to sponsor last Monday, Dec 12. But this Monday, Dec 19, they sent me a letter saying that our file is transferred to etobicoke for further assesment. I was expecting an AIP like all of you guys here but here I am im really nervous frustrated with this. I dont understand why they sent it there? Ive read that its not a good sign. What can I expect? Did anyone experience this yet? What does it usually mean when they do this?

As you've probably read, Etobicoke is typically where applications are transferred when CIC has some sort of concerns with the application or something they want to review more closely (typically it's a closer review of the relationship evidence along with an interview). Processing times are unfortunately all over the place for Etobicoke. However no matter what, I think you can count on your application taking quite a bit longer to process. I a few people here have been successful at avoiding the interview by sending additional strong relationship evidence to the Etobicoke office. So if that's something you can consider doing. I would also order your notes asap to see the comments and find out what they may be concerned about. Good luck.

Curious about this. Would they not send it to the local CIC office based on the person's postal code? I ask, because it would be a pretty far trip for someone from Saskatchewan to the GTA, right? I am wondering if this a specific "speciality" this office has...

Hi my file transferred 17 months back. No update from Etobicoke office. I have 1 dependent as well. Applied PR under OINP. Any info like how many months roughly it takes to respond from them?
