Application information and work permit

Hello,

I am currently in Canada with my new wife who is a Canadian citzen. We recently married in Ontario this febuary and we are awaiting our certificate so we may complete and send off My PR application in which my wife is the sponsor. I am from UK and we have seen the processing time for UK is 24 months but in Ottawa its only 15 months.

Can I send my PR application to Ottawa office?

Also there is a note saying that after December 2014 people who have applied or are waiting for there PR can get a tempory work permit? Any information on this? Can I apply?

Also I am living with my wife here in Canada as I can stay for up to 6 months before I must return to UK so in regards to application do I fill in the documents for her to sponsor a spouse who lives with her in Canada or do we need the forms that relate to her sponsoring someone that does nbot live with her and lives in UK because I am here in Canada but my homeland is UK?

The OWP is not available with an Outland application.

You need to determine if you are submitting an Outland application or an Inland application. An Outland application is routed to the visa office that CIC chooses; you cannot control this part of the process, BUT...London is still working quickly so I wouldn't worry too much. The 24 processing time that you mention is the `worst case', since many are processed faster than that. The Outland application doesn't care if you're actually IN Canada.

The vast majority of those from the UK are getting their PR in well under 12 months (perhaps closer to 8 months), Take a look at one of the UK Outland threads in this forum.

A person that is physically in Canada can still submit an Outland application. It is generally a much faster option than applying Inland, even though it doesn't provide the OWP.

Ok thanks for the information.

So basically the 24 months is to cover there backs in case it takes a while ie if they put 8 months but took 10 instead its just a safety thing I guessing then.

So outland would be a better option then by the sounds of it so I need to fill in the forms to sponsor a spouse that lives outside of Canada?

I am currently in Canada for 6 months and in July me and my wife need to go back to UK we are trying to finds the cheapest way of doing it so could I buy a return flight to Canada or will customs not let me back in Canada as im not a citzen ie flight to UK then UK to Canada?
