Applicants from GCC . . . .

Kindly all of those who are applying from UAE, Qatar, Kuwait etc share all your stories, rejections or success. Lets solve the common issues.

I'm currently residing in Kuwait, planing to apply for 2011 MAY else 2011 Sept. I did my BSc Engineering from PAK. One early issue i faced was the submission of notarized copies of the original transcriots and degree with the seal of the institute on the envelope. For that I've contacted a friend of mine back in PK to arrange the docus and courier them to me so that i can submit one complete package from kuwait to canada.

Here the question arise, most of the canadian univ says these (above mentioned) documents should come directly from the institute. So what about the way im doing? will they accept it? whats teh other way?

Kindly share all your stories. especially to heartbeat, pls share all your stories since you looked to have spent alot of time n energy in all this. What was the reason for Immigration Officer to say that you "couldnt prove you'll return to your country" ?

Also, @heartbeat, I couldnt find any link anywhere on the webs saying that one can qualify for a 3 year work permit even after a 1 year post secondary course/certificate. Kindly clarify

I am zain from India living in Kuwait. Just completed my 12th Grade and have been accepted by all of the colleges I applied in Canada. I prefered Seneca college as my cousins have been in that and are really successful now.

I applied on 4th July at Abu Dhabi embassy as you must know that Canadian Embassy here do not process Visas. I sent my application through DHL with a return way bill..

Got just one response via email on beginning of August asking for my latest school transcripts. I sent them through email.

Still no response yet. Waiting for the visa...

About the college or univ.. You can send you IELTS or TOEFL score directly to the univ or college. They ask when you register for them if you would like to send those results to any of the college or univ and charge you some extra $.

I hope I helped a little atleast...

PS: May has got a lot of time still.. You can stay calm and get everything done right! They best way would be hire an agent and ask him to do it..

Believe me... Agent know better... Coz of them my all friends got their visa.. but me stupid (lol) didnt bother and got stuck back here..

i sent the scanned copies of of all my educational documents direct to college thorough email even these were not attested from HEC or any Intermediate board from Pakistan and i did not get any objection from the college/university

this option is for IELTS/ TOEFL or any other English language certificate are forwarded directly, it mean if u get a certificate from british council you can go to that institute and ask them to courier your result, the college will canada will give u address and code, the british council will courier ur IELTS results to Canadian college

in my case i am still single, no travel history outside UAE, working here from 2 years, did not go back to home land during this period, my parents are in Pakistan, i am living here alone, so all these factors are doubts for immigration officer
so may be ur case different from me bcz of ur family ties in Kuwait or if u married then its a positive point for u, best of luck

this was for post graduation certificate not for post secondary, unfortunately i lost the link becuase it was only available at one college web site thats why i cancel my admission in previous college and trying for post graduation certificate for Jan 2011 session if i find i will share.......give me some time

its good that u've a 100% success rate. Let meknwo what coleges and univ accepted you. Also i'll try to check teh seneca college.

However, i think it's much easier for the undergrads to get the admission. I'm saying this after seeing the cases from Kuwait. But as you might be reading on this forum, you can find alot of rejections for masters candidates esp Research based masters.

Aha, thats good that u're having some good "AGENT" in ur knowledge. Let me know if he's in Kuwait or if he can help the candidates from kuwait. Although, if you go through this forum thoroughly, u'll find alot of posts suggesting not to get into the hands of agents etc etc.

no its not based on master or research programs its only depends on ur docs u submitted to immigration officer

i dont know about agents in UAE i consult to one agent he was asking 80- thousand consultancy fee so i make all myself
its easy as all information available at CIC web

Frnds - What are the documents/proofs will more value for tie ups to home country ?? Since most of the rejections happens with this main reason.

Agents are good in Kuwait but I did not apply through them as I did not know any. My friends did and they all got their visas.

The latest news from my side is... I got a call from Embassy today afternoon saying they are sorry they got my email but they couldn't get the attached transcripts. They asked me to email them before. I did but resulted this.

I asked her about my visa and told her about the delay and start date of my college. She said she knows it starts on 7th of September and you will hear a response soon enough. She asked me to email my transcripts again corresponding to the conversation we had.

Hopefully everything will be good. Waiting for the response.

its really pathetic to know south asians from gcc need to prove strong ties with their home country. well pls share if anyone has answer to this issue. probably an agent in gcc can help . . . . :-\

But i still think that its not a problem for the undergrad candidates. I know few, who were not even academically good but still managed to get the admission and visa in 1st try. they just had more than enough funds . . . . .

well i talked to an agent in Pakistan while i was going to apply for 2nd time

he gave me some tips....... :

1. SOP
2. if possible ur passport show some travel history outside of GCC..........
3. u can submit a leave letter from the employer on the letter head of the company they gona give u vacations for ur study period...
4. a confirmation letter from the employer that you will re-join the same company............
5. your family status in GCC like ur parents or ur wife kids (plus point), are they at jobs ???? attach pics with their job letters.............
6. in case if u married then marriage certificate or ur kid birth certificates if u have.......
7. property docs, business documents, saving certificates, car ownership documents etc either it is owned by ur parents or family members.....

other documents if u have ......well you can read the other thread about these info
